Terms of use

As of 2026-10-05 · Privacy · Legal notice

In short: ShareMarkets is a free information service without advertising. You keep the rights to your portfolios, share only what you choose, and receive no investment advice — but data, tools and other people’s portfolios. Honest information is mandatory; advertising and manipulation are prohibited.

1. Scope and provider

These terms of use apply to the use of ShareMarkets (“the platform”) by all visitors and registered users. The provider is the operator of ShareMarkets (contact: see legal notice). The platform is a non-commercial information service: there are no fees, no advertising and no sale of data. By accessing the platform or registering you accept these terms.

2. What the platform is — and is not

The platform shows publicly available market information (delayed exchange prices, crypto and FX prices, news headlines with source links, event, traffic and infrastructure data on a map) and lets users create their own portfolios of securities, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, futures or currencies, annotate them, attach forecasts (target price and date) and share them with others. The platform evaluates forecasts automatically against later prices.

The platform is not investment, tax or legal advice, not asset management, not a broker and not a trading venue. No securities or cryptocurrencies can be bought, sold or held through the platform. All content, including other users’ portfolios and forecasts and curated situation pictures, is for information and discussion only. Every investment decision is yours alone and at your own risk.

3. Account

An account is optional and only needed for your own portfolios, watchlists, alerts, trackers, notes and chart settings. Only a username and a password are required; no e-mail address is collected. The username must not infringe third-party rights, impersonate a real person or brand, or be offensive. One account per person is intended. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity under your account; as we store no e-mail address, a lost password can only be restored via the contact in the legal notice. Use is permitted for persons aged 16 or over.

4. Your content and sharing

Content you create (portfolios, categories, positions, notes, forecasts, indicator code, profile picture) remains yours. You grant the provider a non-exclusive, free licence, ending when you delete the content, to store, display and technically process it on the platform (e.g. attach prices, evaluate forecasts, translate into other languages) and — only to the extent you share it — to show it to other users.

Portfolios are private by default. You decide whether a portfolio is visible publicly, by link or by access code; your username and profile picture are then visible to viewers. Public indicators appear in the library and may be used by other users in their charts. You can withdraw sharing at any time; copies or screenshots already made by third parties are beyond our control.

Anyone viewing other users’ content may use it for personal information but may not systematically copy, scrape, resell it or present it as their own.

5. Rules for content and use

The platform relies on honest, traceable portfolios. In particular, the following is prohibited:

  • Misleading information: invented prices, gains or track records; pretending to have insider knowledge; promising guaranteed returns.
  • Market manipulation and unfair investment promotion, in particular coordinated buying calls (“pump and dump”), paid promotion of products without disclosure, affiliate links and advertising of any kind.
  • Content that infringes third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, personality rights), is offensive, discriminatory or unlawful, or contains personal data of third parties.
  • Technical abuse: automated querying of the platform or its interfaces beyond normal use, circumventing access codes, rate limits or security measures, injecting malicious code (including in indicator code), multiple accounts to simulate activity.
  • Your own indicators run in a sandbox without network access in your browser. You must not publish code that deceives other users or burdens their browsers.

6. Forecasts, performance and metrics

Forecasts are stored with the price at the time of entry and automatically compared with the price valid on the target date. A portfolio’s call performance is the average price development of its positions since entry, without weighting, costs, taxes, dividends or currency effects. These metrics are comparative values, not a statement of account and no proof of profits actually achieved. Price data may be erroneous, late or incomplete; metrics based on them may change retroactively.

7. Market data and sources

Exchange prices are shown with a delay of at least 15 to 20 minutes depending on the exchange (stocks, ETFs, indices and futures); crypto and FX prices are live. The data come from third-party providers and are passed on without warranty. News is shown as a headline with a very short teaser and source link; the content belongs to the respective newsrooms. Curated situation pictures (crisis regions, trade and rail routes, energy infrastructure) are dated, sourced and carry an evidence grade; they are not a live operating status. Reuse of the data outside the platform is subject to the terms of the respective providers (see “Sources” page).

8. Availability and changes

The platform is operated without any availability commitment. Maintenance, outages at data providers or technical problems may cause downtime, delayed prices or missing content. We may change, restrict or discontinue features at any time. There is no entitlement to use, to specific features or to retention of content; back up important content yourself.

9. Deletion, blocking, termination

You can delete content yourself at any time and request deletion of your account via the contact in the legal notice. We may remove content and temporarily block or permanently delete accounts in case of violations of these terms, abuse, official or court orders, or if the platform is discontinued. For minor violations we first remove the affected content; in cases of market manipulation, deception, infringements or technical abuse, blocking may be immediate. Reports of violations can be sent to the contact in the legal notice and are examined promptly.

10. Liability

The platform is provided free of charge. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health. Otherwise liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law; in particular we accept no liability for investment decisions, lost profits or losses based on platform content, other users’ content, erroneous or delayed price data or outages. Other users are responsible for their own content; operators of linked external sites for those sites.

11. Data protection

Which data we process is set out in full in the privacy policy. In short: only technically necessary cookies, no e-mail address, no disclosure, no advertising, pseudonymous visitor counting.

12. Changes, law, final provisions

We may amend these terms when the platform, the legal situation or the data sources change. The current version with its date is published on this page; registered users are informed of material changes at their next login. The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies; mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should a provision be invalid, the remainder remains in force. The platform is non-commercial; we do not take part in dispute-resolution proceedings before consumer arbitration boards.
